Twyla’s Top 10 Tips:

1. Use Cool Water
Hot water sets stains. Body temperature or cooler (around 98°F) is ideal for removing body-related stains. For commercial machines, adjust settings to lower temperatures. Don’t worry about germs—soap takes care of that!

2. Pre-Treat Stains
Pre-treatment is essential for stubborn stains like blood. Mix equal parts water and hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle and apply it before washing. This solution is also effective on rust and shower door buildup. For long-term shower cleanliness, apply NANO Wax monthly.

3. Skip the Bleach
Bleach weakens fabric fibers, making them prone to stains. Use hydrogen peroxide instead, at half the volume of bleach. While slightly more expensive, it extends the life of your linens.

4. Use Less Soap
Excess soap leaves residue, which traps stains and reduces softness. Rinse linens in a second cycle with white vinegar and no soap to remove residue. This trick works for both domestic and commercial washing machines.

5. Handle Self-Tanning Creams Carefully
These stains worsen in hot water. Stick to cool temperatures and pre-treat with peroxide to avoid setting the stains.

6. Tackle Vomit Stains with Dish Soap
Vomit often contains grease. Dawn dish soap works wonders in removing these stains in one attempt. It’s also great for cleaning Jacuzzi tubs.

7. Remove Set Stains with Baking Soda Paste
For stubborn, set stains, mix hydrogen peroxide and baking soda into a paste. This blend doubles as an effective cleaner for sinks and tubs.

8. Avoid Fabric Softeners
Fabric softeners coat fibers, reducing softness and absorbency. Instead, use vinegar, which acts as a natural softener and eliminates detergent residue.

9. Avoid Over-Drying
Excessive drying weakens fibers and sets stains that weren’t fully removed. Use a lower temperature setting for drying linens.

10. A Last-Resort Stain Remover
If all else fails, try Resolve carpet cleaner. Spray it directly on the stain. While harsh on fibers, it’s a dependable emergency solution.
